    Pioneer Place is a major shopping mall in the middle of Downtown Portland. You can find over 30 stores across the multi-block centre. Some of the brands available at Pioneer Place include high-end names like Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co. and Gucci. You can also find big-name favourites, including H&M, Apple and Nike.

    Pioneer Place is also home to a large food court and individual fast-food restaurants. If you’re travelling by car, the mall has an onsite and expansive paid parking garage, as well as very limited street parking nearby.

    Lloyd Center is one of the largest malls in Oregon. It’s located near the Oregon Convention Center, across the Willamette River. The huge complex houses over 100 stores, a 10-screen movie theatre, an indoor ice-skating rink and a food court.

    Surprisingly, you won't find any large department stores in this 3-storey mall, but there are plenty of shops to get what you’re looking for. Major stores include Barnes & Noble, Forever 21 and Ross Dress for Less. The Regal Lloyd Center showcases the latest blockbusters throughout the year.

    Downtown Portland is the main retail core of Portland, offering a vast array of shopping options to suit a range of budget levels. It’s a very walkable city centre, so you can easily stroll between shops, restaurants and various businesses.

    Downtown Portland has a few major department stores like Nordstrom and Mario's, as well as indoor malls and boutique stores. While Pioneer Square is arguably its main shopping hub, you can also find individual stores along the main thoroughfares, such as West Burnside Street and Southwest Washington Street.     Washington Square Mall is one of Oregon largest shopping malls. You can find it in Tigard, around 7.7 miles (12.4 km) southwest of Downtown Portland.     The Portland Saturday Market is one of the city's most popular places to go shopping. The weekend market is set up along the Willamette River near Burnside Bridge, just 1 mile (1.6 km) northeast of Downtown Portland. It's known as one of the USA’s longest continuously operating open-air crafts markets.

    The weekly market has over 150 vendors selling arts, crafts, food and gifts from around the Pacific Northwest. You’ll also find local entertainment, including live music and plenty of food trucks and stalls. While most vendors accept payment by card, it’s a good idea to carry some cash for some of the smaller shops.

    The Pearl District is a popular neighbourhood just 1.5 miles (2.4 km) north of Downtown Portland. It’s known for its high-end shops, art galleries, interior design stores and fancy boutiques. It was originally the industrial centre of the city, but the old warehouses have since been converted into trendy shops and restaurants. Since the 1990s, it has become a hub for creatives, artisans and high-end sellers.

    The Pearl District is also home to the popular Art Walk, which takes place on the first Thursday of every month. This is when the galleries and shops stay open later than usual for locals to enjoy some late-night shopping. You’ll also find street food stalls and live music playing throughout the night.

    The Portland Farmers Market at PSU is a weekly market held on the campus of Portland State University (PSU). With over 100 farmer and vendor stalls, it’s one of the largest farmers’ markets in the city.     The PSU Portland Farmers Market is a great place to shop for local and seasonal produce and small-batch artisan food products. The other markets operate seasonally from May to November. It’s a good idea to bring your own reusable shopping bags to the market.

    Nob Hill is the vibrant Victorian residential area near the West Hills in Portland. The neighbourhood’s main shopping thoroughfares are Northwest 23rd and 21st Avenues, which are packed with beautiful boutiques and buzzing restaurants with sidewalk seating. While you can find some well-known fashion chains, it’s the smaller independent stores and unique shops that most people come here for.

    The avenues are incredibly busy with shoppers, especially on weekends. You’ll find thrift stores, independent furniture shops, stationery stores and outdoor specialty venues. There are also many eateries, including coffee shops, gastropubs and small artisan eateries, among Nob Hill’s beautiful Edwardian buildings and landscaped avenues.

    Cascade Station is a large shopping mall on Portland’s MAX Red Line. It's just 2 stops away from Portland International Airport, making it a convenient shopping option for visitors to Portland. It's home to several big stores, including IKEA, Best Buy and the Banana Republic Factory Store. You’ll also find a couple of major department stores, namely Nordstrom Rack and Marshalls.

    Cascade Station has casual dining options, including fast food, modern restaurants and well-known coffee chains like Starbucks. It’s designed as an open-air centre, with parking lots in the middle and indoor shops surrounding the outside. For those looking for some fresh air, Stanley Park runs along the back of the mall.

    The Alberta Arts District is one of Portland’s creative hubs, close to Alberta Park, about 4 miles (6 km) north of Downtown Portland. The streets are lined with a variety of independent boutiques selling handcrafted items, art and antiques. The main thoroughfare is Northeast Alberta Street, where you can explore art galleries, craft boutiques, art supply stores and home goods centres.

    The Alberta Arts District also has a great variety of food choices, including trendy gastropubs, traditional taquerias and organic cafés. In contrast to the well-known Pearl District’s First Thursday Art Walk, Alberta Street celebrates the Last Thursday Art Walk. It’s a fun street fair that draws a young and hip crowd every month.
