I have never been to a resort before, I rarely travel at all, so I am not familiar with making hotel reservations etc.. When I made the reservation for my hotel room which I was sharing with my adult son and daughter, I requested 1 room with two double sized beds, the person taking my reservation said I did not have to pay until I got to the resort, I said fine. I had no knowledge it was all inclusive, I came there for my nephews wedding as I said with my adult daughter and son, so when we checked in, I assumed the room for all 3 of us was going to be $1,025, which is what I was quoted when I inquired about the cost on September 27, so you can imagine how shocked I was when they told me $2,850.09 .The resort was beautiful, clean, and the staff was wonderful, I was not impressed with the food courts, but the Mexican Restaurant was devine, food was great, service was wonderful. So my only problem was the cost of the room which I know included food, drink, etc.. Also I was charged 2 International fees $29.47 & $56.03, is this a normal fee?

Our second visit to Barcelo Maya Caribe, even better than the first, we were upgraded to a swim up and it was a wonderful room! The property is so well maintained and the staff is very friendly! Can't wait to go back next year!

Customer service was terrible. They changed me 3 times from rooms. One of the rooms assigned, toilet was super dirty with rust. Then my original reservation stated 1 king bed and they assigned me two twin beds. Receptionist stated that reservations were not guaranteed.
