It was a very nice stay. We really enjoyed the great attentiveness and hospitality provided to us by all members of the staff. We really felt at home and cared for. One suggestion would be to perhaps have smart TVs in the rooms for a better experience when winding down. Other than that an excellent place and we will for sure be coming back!

The hotel and the rooms have been renovated. The beach is nice and no issues with availability for chairs. The food is very average, even in the à la carte restaurants. The buffet is very mediocre and to be avoided. I don’t think that the supplement for All Inclusive is worth it. There are many good and inexpensive restaurants within walking distance.

Could be so much better for the price we paid
Pros: size of rooms. Ease of access to beach and pools. good beds. the water slides are good for small kids. Cons: Food is medium at best and sometimes just bad, and it doesn't matter if you are using the special resturantsor not. no real activities for kids. The extra activity we were reccomend to buy (dolphins in Isla Mujeres) was an 8 hour "trip" for 50 minutes of activity, and the rest of the time on the island felt like we were only there to be used as a walking credit card. though the activity was not by the hotel, it was recommended and coordinated by the staff and I would expect more honesty about it.

Great Spot!
The staff here is so helpful and friendly! I never felt pressured by time share sales and they assisted me in many different ways. The food was great, though we wished the Sidelines Bar was open during the day. Our weather wasn't great, so finding places during heavy rains was challenging. The flag reserve system for Beach and poolside chairs is competitive, but we did get nice spots each day. Transportation to and from the hotel, arranged through Thomas Moore system was great! Luz Hernandez did an exceptional job with our room care.

The beach was great, the property was clean. Main compliant was that the water park area, the tennis/pickleball courts, and the basketball courts were closed due to maintenance. This limited activities for kids and teenagers. They have been shut down for a couple months, so it would’ve been nice to know before the trip.

It's not the Sands I remember under the Royals, most of the staff didn't speak or under stand English, except the people that have been with the Royals before the sale. The food quality wasn't the way we remember, very limited menu, same food day after day. Holiday Inn's will have to step up and get things squared away, before we return, at the price they want.

Great resort overall, but the dining options weren’t great, and most days we couldn’t even get into one of the nicer restaurants. My only other complaint would be that there were several items that required additional money. When I go to an all inclusive, I expect all food and drinks to be included. On the positive, beautiful property, very clean and exceptional service. We had a blast.
