We spent 3 nights out of 5 with poor air conditioning in our room. We called once in the morning before leaving and twice at night. They sent a technician up 3 times and told us it was working properly. We had 8 others with us in different rooms and their AC was working just fine. Finally after the 3rd day, they moved us. When we switched rooms, we forgot 2 pieces of clothing on the dry rack. We check 45 mins later and the clothing was gone, housekeeping was completed and the technicians were fixing the AC that the hotel property kept telling us was not broken. Did not receive a credit for the room or for the clothing that was stolen by housekeeping.

The Riu Palace Las Americas is a fun and relaxing destination. Negatives: The rooms and furniture are dated. The snack bar has a really bad odor from the deli meats that are left out all day. Requesting maintenance or laundry is a daunting task, front desk needs to communicate with staff but because the property is so big and not enough staff you end up waiting for a long time. Postives: Great property outside, clean beach with plenty of beach chairs. 3 great pools The mexican restaurant on the resort is great The staff was so friendly and always ready to help Great lobby area with seating for large groups
