Not like it used to be
We had not stayed in this resort for 22 years and I know there were many changes over the years. Overall we found it to be an "OK" experience. The employees were helpful and gracious but if you are not wanting to join their Club or membership programs, you have to be FIRM with those people. They repeatedly would stop us to sit through the sales program and we were just there to relax. There were a few things I thought odd: You could not have any alcohol prior to 11:00 AM. Not a Bloody Mary, Mimosa or Bailey's in your coffee. They did not have Guacamole and chips in the snack bar or at any buffet. They did not have breakfast sausage but if you covertly asked your server, they would provide bacon...but it's not a menu or buffet item. The air conditioning grill blew down on the beds and froze us out and then when we turn the temp up....we were sweaty. Just a bad placement. Finally if you are disabled, the ramps are very steep and few and far between. You will need an able-bodied soul to assist. I must sound like a "Karen" but I just want people to be aware of a few things that are important to us as travelers. Pictures from room 1522 window.
Everything was excellent and as expected. Very clean and enjoyable.

Hotel was “sold out”
I had a confirmed reservation for Royal Solaris with a lagoon view. At checkin I was told they “oversold” and would love me to GR SOLARIS with an “upgraded” room. They shuttle us to the next hotel to find out that our upgraded room is a view of another hotel. I asked the front desk for the upgrade we were promised and the supervisor Anakaren said they have nothing available but we were welcome to go back to the original hotel if we wanted. The hotel that was oversold and has no rooms. Very disappointed with the service— no one here seems to care. I would NOT book here unless your ready to deal with unexpected changes and lies.

Very limited dining and food wasnt good. Room service even more limited and does cost $5 USD every time. Concierge is only there to get you to listen to their 3 hour spiel on becoming a member and very push every time you come off the elevator. We did do the presentation and they were very pushy through the whole thing all we wanted was a taxi and had some time to kill. They wanted $10,000 USD and acted as they wouldn't take no for an answer. We had to get aggressive with them on our paid honeymoon.

There are multiple dining options here in this resort. So many activities for kids and adults. In a nutshell, you can spend your entire day here without going outside. All the staffs are very friendly. I wish I would have spent more time here. I would recommend this resort to others.
I would suggest the management to make check-in process smooth. As the property does not allow guests to check-in before 3 PM, I found much crowd at 3 PM to collect the keys and there were only two staffs to handle more than 15 guests at 3 PM. Also, the restrooms near the swimming pool area needs air freshener although it was regularly cleaned by janitors.

The pool experience was great! We had two boys that loved it! There was lots of games and entertainment for them (and us)! Having the burger, hot dog, and nacho stand near the pool was super convenient. The pizza stand by the pool was great too. There was a wait for that. The pool bar was supposed to open at 11am which opened around 11:15 or later, but the service was great! Christian was great!! No alcohol is served until 11am at this resort.
If you’re going to work there, have your own internet. The internet provided was spotty at best.
Check in was rough for us. We had an infant and needed a crib we preordered. It was almost impossible to get it. Room service was almost nonexistent. If you want bottle water for your room, get some for the cleaners in the morning.
For the dinner reservations, Marco Polo and Rosmarinus were pretty good! The Bogavante and Venete were just ok.
We did a couples massage and that a must!!!
We made some friends from all over the world. We had a great trip!
