Chill Factore is a massive indoor ski slope and adventure complex that lets visitors enjoy the slope and relax at the Alpine Village area with its shops and restaurants. This facility offers the longest indoor ski slope in the country, reaching a length of 180 metres. Because it's located entirely indoors, visitors can enjoy the slope all year long, making winter adventure more accessible than ever before.

Anyone looking for a fun downhill thrill will enjoy Chill Factore. The slope isn't exceedingly difficult to traverse, and there are aspects that are specifically reserved for beginners. Visitors can take lessons, starting from the basics in beginner courses. Most people spend a few hours here, but given the varying opportunities for skiing and snowboarding, one could easily lose themselves for an entire afternoon. This is especially true if you want to try the luge track and sledging.

Chill Factore highlights

The main feature of this facility is the massive ski slope that's 180 metres long and 100 metres wide at its widest point. You can ski and snowboard down this hill, of course, but you'll also find opportunities for tubing, airboarding, sledging and snowscooting. Getting to the top of the slope is easy thanks to the 2 drag lifts next to the slope. Interestingly enough, the lifts at Chill Factore are suspended from the ceiling, unlike other indoor facilities that have the lift supports on the piste itself.

The Alpine Village area of this facility is where you can go to relax between your snowy adventures. In this area, you'll find several shops and restaurants including The Sports Bar and The Mont Blanc Restaurant. The latter is especially popular thanks to its slope-side viewing balconies. You'll also find event facilities here with room enough for 250 people if you're looking to host during your trip.

Chill Factore history

Chill Factore began in 2007 when it opened that November. At the time, it was both the longest indoor ski slope in the UK and the widest in the world. In the years since, it has welcomed millions of guests to enjoy its offerings and find snow-themed adventures.

Just 4 years after opening, Chill Factore hosted a record-breaking effort for the longest chain of skiers to travel 100 metres without breaking. The record number of skiers in the chain was 60, and it was only possible thanks to just how wide the slope is. Further history was made in May of the same year when Chill Factore hosted the first Snowbombing event in the UK, a skiing festival that's typically held in Austria.

Good to know when visiting Chill Factore

While the indoor slope is available all year long, winter is still the most popular time to visit. If you're looking to avoid the crowds, it's generally best to visit during the summer on a weekday. Winter Saturdays often have guests spending more time in the lift queue than on the slope at the busiest times. Additionally, be sure to check their website for any deals and offers on lift passes if you're looking to ski at a discount.

When you visit Chill Factore, you'll find yourself conveniently next to quite a few other attractions as well. Dino Falls Adventure Golf is well within walking distance, along with the more adult-oriented Trafford Golf Centre. Just over a mile to the east towards the town centre, you'll find TeamSport Go Karting if you're looking for a different kind of thrill. The fun doesn't end there, as Inflata Nation Inflatable Theme Park is also just a short distance to the east, about a mile away.
